Quran 85, Al Burooj (The Constellations) ⓘ
85:1By the heaven, holding mansions of the stars,
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ وَالسَّمَاءِ ذَاتِ الْبُرُوجِ
85:2And by the Promised Day.
وَالْيَوْمِ الْمَوْعُودِ
85:3And by the witness and that whereunto he beareth testimony,
وَشَاهِدٍ وَمَشْهُودٍ
85:4(Self-)destroyed were the owners of the ditch
قُتِلَ أَصْحَابُ الْأُخْدُودِ
85:5Of the fuel-fed fire,
النَّارِ ذَاتِ الْوَقُودِ
85:6When they sat by it,
إِذْ هُمْ عَلَيْهَا قُعُودٌ
85:7And were themselves the witnesses of what they did to the believers.
وَهُمْ عَلَى مَا يَفْعَلُونَ بِالْمُؤْمِنِينَ شُهُودٌ
85:8They had naught against them save that they believed in Allah, the Mighty, the Owner of Praise,
وَمَا نَقَمُوا مِنْهُمْ إِلَّا أَنْ يُؤْمِنُوا بِاللَّهِ الْعَزِيزِ الْحَمِيدِ
85:9Him unto Whom belongeth the Sovereignty of the heavens and the earth; and Allah is of all things the Witness.
الَّذِي لَهُ مُلْكُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَاللَّهُ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ شَهِيدٌ
85:10Lo! they who persecute believing men and believing women and repent not, theirs verily will be the doom of hell, and theirs the doom of burning.
إِنَّ الَّذِينَ فَتَنُوا الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتِ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَتُوبُوا فَلَهُمْ عَذَابُ جَهَنَّمَ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابُ الْحَرِيقِ
85:11Lo! those who believe and do good works, theirs will be Gardens underneath which rivers flow. That is the Great Success.
إِنَّ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ لَهُمْ جَنَّاتٌ تَجْرِي مِنْ تَحْتِهَا الْأَنْهَارُ ذَلِكَ الْفَوْزُ الْكَبِيرُ
85:12Lo! the punishment of thy Lord is stern.
إِنَّ بَطْشَ رَبِّكَ لَشَدِيدٌ
85:13Lo! He it is Who produceth, then reproduceth,
إِنَّهُ هُوَ يُبْدِئُ وَيُعِيدُ
85:14And He is the Forgiving, the Loving,
وَهُوَ الْغَفُورُ الْوَدُودُ
85:15Lord of the Throne of Glory,
ذُو الْعَرْشِ الْمَجِيدُ
85:17Hath there come unto thee the story of the hosts
هَلْ أَتَاكَ حَدِيثُ الْجُنُودِ
85:18Of Pharaoh and (the tribe of) Thamud?
فِرْعَوْنَ وَثَمُودَ
85:19Nay, but those who disbelieve live in denial
بَلِ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا فِي تَكْذِيبٍ
85:20And Allah, all unseen, surroundeth them.
وَاللَّهُ مِنْ وَرَائِهِمْ مُحِيطٌ
85:21Nay, but it is a glorious Qur'an.
بَلْ هُوَ قُرْآنٌ مَجِيدٌ
85:22On a guarded tablet.
فِي لَوْحٍ مَحْفُوظٍ
