The Horn full verses back to top

A sign for them is that We carried their ancestors in the loaded ship.

And We created for them similar vessels to ride.

If We willed, We could drown them, then no one would hear their cries, nor would they be saved

Except by mercy from Us and as a temporary enjoyment.

Yet when they’re told, “Be mindful of what lies ahead and behind you, so you may receive mercy,” they turn away.

And they say, “When will this promise come true, if you’re truthful?”

They await only a single blast, from which there is no return.

They await nothing but a single blast that will seize them while they argue.

Then they won’t be able to make a will, nor return to their families.

Then the Trumpet will be blown, and suddenly, they will rise from their graves, rushing toward their Lord.

They will cry, “Woe to us! Who has raised us from our resting place?” This is what the Merciful promised, and the messengers spoke the truth.

It will be but a single blast, and suddenly, they will all be brought before Us.

Today, no soul will be wronged in the least. You will only be repaid for what you used to do.

So I may do good in what I left behind.” Never! It is only a word he speaks. And behind them is a barrier until the Day they are raised.

When the Trumpet is blown, there will be no ties between them that day, and they will not ask about one another.

But the disbelievers will remain in doubt until the Hour overtakes them suddenly, or the punishment of a barren Day descends upon them.

On the Day when We raise a witness from every nation, the disbelievers will not be allowed to plead or make amends.

Resurrected full verses back to top

Yet these people say

“There is nothing but our first death; we will not be resurrected.

Bring back our ancestors, if you are truthful.”

And the disbeliever says, “When I die, will I be brought back to life?”

Does man not remember that We created him before, when he was nothing?

We created them only with truth, but most of them do not know.

Thus will you be resurrected.

They marvel that a warner has come from among them. The disbelievers say, “This is a strange thing!”

“When we are dead and turned to dust, shall we be brought back? That would be a far return indeed.”

We know what the earth consumes of them, and with Us is a preserving record.

But they called the truth a lie when it came to them, so they are in confusion.

When we are dead and turned to dust and bones, will we really be raised again?

And our forefathers, too?”

Say: “Yes indeed, and you will be humbled.”

It will only take one blast, and suddenly, they will be staring.

They say, “When we are bones and dust, will we truly be resurrected?”

Say, “Even if you were stone or iron.”

Or even something greater in your thoughts! Yet they will ask, “Who will bring us back?” Say, “The One who created you the first time.” Then they will shake their heads at you and say, “When will that be?” Say, “Perhaps it is near.”

On the Day He calls you, you will respond with praise, thinking you had only stayed a short while.

So, they will deny you in what you say, and you can neither avert nor help.

But they say what the ancients said:

“When we die and become dust and bones, will we really be resurrected?

They will say, “To Allah.” Say: “Then will you not remember?”

They will say, “Allah.” Say: “Then will you not be mindful?”

They say, “Will we really be restored to our former state?

Even after we have become decayed bones?”

They say, “Then this would be a losing return!”

But it will only take one blast

And suddenly, they will be awake.

Then He caused him to die and be buried.

Then, when He wills, He will resurrect him.

But no! He has not fulfilled what He was commanded.

The disbelievers say, “Shall we show you a man who claims that once you are completely disintegrated, you will be raised anew?”

They are lifeless, not living, and they do not know when they will be resurrected.

Those who disbelieve claim they will not be resurrected. Say, “Yes indeed, by my Lord, you will be resurrected, then informed of what you did.

He strikes up arguments about Us, forgetting his own creation. He says, “Who will bring bones back to life after they’ve decayed?”

Say: “The One who created them the first time will bring them back. He knows every kind of creation.”

He is the One who made fire for you from green trees, so you kindle flames from them.

Is not the One who created the heavens and the earth able to create the likes of them again?
