Levelling the Land

We know best what they say, when the most reasonable among them will say, “You only stayed for a day.”

20:104We are Best Aware of what they utter when their best in conduct say: Ye have tarried but a day.

They ask you about the mountains, say, “My Lord will scatter them as dust.”

20:105They will ask thee of the mountains (on that day). Say: My Lord will break them into scattered dust.

He will leave the earth flat and barren

20:106And leave it as an empty plain,

With no curves or unevenness.

20:107Wherein thou seest neither curve nor ruggedness.

On that Day, they will follow the caller without deviation, and all voices will be hushed before the Most Merciful; only whispers will be heard.

20:108On that day they follow the summoner who deceiveth not, and voices are hushed for the Beneficent, and thou hearest but a faint murmur.
