Disbelief in the Quran

When Our verses are recited to them, they say, “We have heard this before. If we wanted, we could say something similar.

And when they are asked, “What has your Lord sent down?” They say, “Ancient myths, he wrote them down, dictated to him morning and evening.”

Or do they say, “He made it up”? Say, “Then produce a chapter like it and call upon anyone you can besides Allah, if you are truthful.”

Or do they say, “He invented it”? Say, “Then produce ten chapters like it, and call upon anyone you can besides Allah, if you are truthful.”

Yet they say, “These are confused dreams! No, he has fabricated them! No, he is a poet! Let him bring us a sign like those sent before.”

Or do they say, “He made it up”? Say, “If I have fabricated it, then my sin is upon me, but I am free of your wrongdoing.”

Yet they say, “He made it up.” No, it is the truth from your Lord, sent to warn a people who had no warner before you, so they may be guided.

Or do they say: He has fabricated lies about Allah? If Allah so willed, He could seal your heart.

Or do they say, “He invented it”? Say: If I have fabricated it, you have no power to protect me from Allah.

When Our clear signs are recited to them, they say, “This is only a man who wants to turn you away from what your ancestors worshipped.” And they say, “This is nothing but a fabricated lie.”

The disbelievers say, “This is nothing but a fabrication he made up, with others helping him.”

He’s just a man inventing lies about Allah; we won’t believe him.”

This Qur’an is not a fabricated tale

The disbelievers say, “This is nothing but a fabrication he made up, with others helping him.” They have committed injustice and falsehood.

This is nothing but human speech.”

We know they say, “A human teaches him.”

Your companion has not strayed, nor has he erred.

He does not speak from whim.

It is nothing but revelation sent down.

Taught to him by one of immense power

Firm in might, he rose to his true form

We know that their words grieve you, but it is not you they reject; it is Allah’s signs that the wrongdoers deny.

It has already been revealed to you in the Book: when you hear Allah’s signs being denied and mocked, do not sit with those who do so unless they turn to another topic

Those who reject Allah’s signs will face a severe punishment
