Reasons for Hell

They say, ‘The Fire will only touch us for a few days.’ But they deceive themselves in their own beliefs.

He nearly led us away from our gods, had we not been steadfast.” But soon they will know, when they see the punishment, who is furthest astray.

Or do they have partners who have legislated for them a faith that Allah did not permit? Had it not been for the decisive word, judgment would have been passed between them.

They have taken gods besides Allah to give them honour.

But no! They will reject their worship and become their opponents.

If these were truly gods, they would not enter it, but all will abide therein.

"But you may worship whatever you wish besides Him." Say, "The true losers are those who lose themselves and their families on the Day of Resurrection. That is the ultimate loss."

Whoever seeks a way other than submission to Allah it will never be accepted from them.

A messenger came to them with clear signs, but they rejected him, so punishment seized them while they were wrongdoers.

Those who oppose Allah and His Messenger will be humbled, just as those before them were. We have sent down clear revelations.

But whoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger and transgresses His limits will be cast into a fire.

When it was said to them, “There is no god but Allah,” they grew arrogant.

But whoever opposes the Messenger after guidance has been made clear and follows a path other than that of the believers, We will leave them to their chosen path and cast them into Hell, what a miserable destination!

That is because they followed what angers Allah and hated what pleases Him, so He nullified their deeds.

If they deny you, say, “Your Lord is vast in mercy, but His punishment cannot be repelled from the guilty.”

And said, “Shall we abandon our gods for a mad poet?”

They found their forefathers astray.

And they rushed to follow in their footsteps.

When Our clear signs are recited to them, you see denial on the faces of the disbelievers. They nearly attack those who recite Our verses. Say: “Shall I tell you of something worse than that?

Their leaders conspired, saying, “Hold fast to your gods; this is a calculated scheme.”

“We have never heard such claims in our forefathers’ faith; this is mere fabrication.”

“Was revelation given to him alone, out of all of us?” They doubt My warning, yet they have not tasted My punishment.

It has already been revealed to you in the Book: when you hear Allah’s signs being denied and mocked

And when he learns something of Our signs, he mocks them.

The evil of their deeds will become clear to them, and they will be overwhelmed by what they used to mock.

But among people are those who purchase idle talk to mislead others from Allah’s path without knowledge, and take it in mockery.

Allah responded, “I will send it down to you, but whoever disbelieves afterward, I will punish them as none before has been punished.”

And when Our verses are recited to them, they turn away arrogantly, as if they did not hear, as if their ears were deaf.

But as for those who disbelieved: “Were My signs not recited to you? Yet you acted arrogantly and became a guilty people.”

Those who reject Our signs and act arrogantly will not enter Paradise, not until a camel passes through the eye of a needle. This is how We repay the guilty.

The guilty will be in confusion and flames.

Who is more unjust than one who, when reminded of his Lord’s signs, turns away? We will surely take vengeance upon the guilty.

The guilty will be recognized by their marks, they will be seized by their forelocks and feet.

No! If he does not desist, We will seize him by the forelock.

A lying, sinful forelock!

My signs were recited to you, but you turned away

Those who reject Allah’s signs will not be guided, and for them is a painful punishment.

But those who strive to undermine Our signs, seeking to defeat them, will be brought into punishment.

But those who reject Our signs will be seized by punishment for their defiance.

And they rejected Our signs with defiance.

But We have recorded everything in a book.

Those who reject Our signs will be cast into a fire

His are the keys to the heavens and the earth. Those who disbelieve in His signs are the true losers.

But those who strive to defy Our signs, they are the companions of the Blaze.

I will punish them as none before has been punished.

They will have an eternal home, a fitting recompense for their rejection of Our signs.

And when the decree falls upon them, We will bring forth a creature from the earth to speak to them, for the people were not certain about Our signs.

Unless they turn to another topic, otherwise, you will be like them.

So, leave Me to those who reject this message. We will draw them in gradually, from where they do not know.

Those who distort Our signs are not hidden from Us. Is one who is cast into the Fire better, or one who arrives secure on the Day of Resurrection? Do as you will, He sees all that you do.

Those who deny Allah’s signs and the meeting with Him, they have despaired of My mercy, and for them is a painful punishment.

Or do you feel secure that He will not send you back to sea, unleash a violent storm upon you, and drown you for your ingratitude? Then you would find no helper against Us.

But those who reject Our signs, we will gradually lead them to ruin in ways they do not perceive.

Until they arrive, He will say, “Did you deny My signs without fully understanding them? What was it that you did?”

Those who reject faith and deny Allah’s signs will be cast into the Fire, where they will remain.

He will say, “Just as Our signs came to you and you ignored them, today you are ignored.”

Each rejected the messengers, and so My punishment was justified.

But whoever turns away from My remembrance will have a miserable life and will be resurrected blind.

Those who play in falsehood

The Day they are shoved into the Fire of Hell with force:

“This is the Fire you used to deny.

Is this magic? Or do you still not see?

Do you see how he denies and turns away?

Does he not know that Allah sees?

So, We took vengeance upon them, see the fate of those who denied.

Say to the disbelievers: ‘You will be defeated and gathered into Hell'.

We did not create the heavens, the earth, and all between them in vain; this is the assumption of those who deny the truth.

But those who do not believe in the Hereafter are swerving from the path.

“Has he fabricated a lie about Allah, or is he possessed?” No! Those who deny the Hereafter are in error and far astray.

Even if We had mercy on them and removed their hardship, they would still persist in their rebellion, wandering blindly.

We seized them with punishment, yet they did not humble themselves to their Lord, nor did they plead.

Until We open for them a gate of severe punishment, then they will be filled with despair.

Whoever disbelieves in Allah after having believed will face Allah’s wrath

Indeed, those who disbelieve after having believed, then increase in disbelief, their repentance will never be accepted, and they are truly lost.

How will Allah guide those who disbelieved after believing, having witnessed the truth and received clear signs?

Those who believe, then disbelieve, then believe again, then disbelieve once more, Allah will not forgive them nor guide them.

Allah forgives what is past, but whoever repeats will face His justice.

Perhaps your Lord will have mercy on you. But if you return to corruption, We will return to punishment.

And whoever turns away from their faith and dies in disbelief, their deeds will be worthless in this world and the Hereafter. They will be companions of the Fire.

We will turn to what they did and make it like scattered dust.

We will give them no weight on the Day of Judgment.

except one forced while his heart remains firm

But those who break their covenant with Allah, sever what He has commanded to be joined, and spread corruption in the land.

There, every soul will be confronted with what it did, and they will be returned to Allah, their true Master. Their false gods will abandon them.

They have lost themselves, and what they fabricated has abandoned them.

Only those who lie and deny Allah’s signs fabricate falsehood, and they are the true liars.

Who is more unjust than one who fabricates lies against Allah? They will be presented before their Lord, and witnesses will say, “These are the ones who lied against their Lord.”

Do not falsely declare, “This is lawful, and this is forbidden,” fabricating lies against Allah. Those who do so will not succeed.

They say, “These livestock and crops are forbidden, none may eat them except whom we will.” And some livestock they forbid from carrying loads, and others they do not mention Allah’s name over, fabricating lies against Him. He will repay them for their falsehoods.

Who is more unjust than one who fabricates lies against Allah or claims, “I have received revelation,” when no revelation was given to him? Or one who says, “I will reveal something like what Allah has revealed”?

That assumption of yours about your Lord has led you to ruin, and now you are among the lost.

Have you not seen those who exchanged Allah’s favour for disbelief and led their people to ruin?

Indeed, those who conceal what Allah has revealed in the Book and trade it for a small price consume nothing but fire in their bellies. Allah will not speak to them on the Day of Judgment, nor will He purify them, and they will face a painful punishment.

This is wisdom your Lord has revealed. Do not set up another Allah alongside Him, lest you end up disgraced and forsaken.

But one who says to his parents, “Ugh! Do you promise me that I will be resurrected, when generations before me have already passed away?

There was a group of My servants who used to say, ‘Our Lord, we believe, so forgive us and have mercy on us. You are the best of the merciful.’

But you took them in mockery, until they made you forget My remembrance, and you used to laugh at them.

He will say, “How many years did you remain on earth?”

They will say, “We stayed a day, or part of a day, ask those who kept count.”

He will say, “You stayed only a little, if only you had known.

Did you think We created you without purpose, and that you would not be returned to Us?”

But whoever kills a believer intentionally will face Hell, where they will remain. Allah’s wrath and curse are upon them, and a severe punishment awaits.

When they are told, ‘Fear Allah,’ their arrogance drives them deeper into sin.

Blame is upon those who oppress others and spread corruption unjustly.

Yet those who have lost themselves refuse to believe.

The disbelievers spend their wealth to turn people away from Allah’s path. They will continue to spend it, then regret it, and ultimately be defeated. The disbelievers will be gathered into Hell.

Those who hoard gold and silver and do not spend it in Allah’s cause, give them news of a painful punishment.

Those who are stingy and encourage others to be stingy, hiding what Allah has given them.

Those who withhold charity and deny the Hereafter.

Do not let their wealth or children impress you. Allah only intends to punish them through these in this life, and their souls will depart while they are disbelievers.

Those who consume the wealth of orphans unjustly are filling their bellies with fire, and they will be cast into a blazing torment.
