We relate to you the stories of past messengers to strengthen your heart. In these accounts, truth is revealed, along with guidance and a reminder for the believers.

11:120And all that We relate unto thee of the story of the messengers is in order that thereby We may make firm thy heart. And herein hath come unto thee the Truth and an exhortation and a reminder for believers.

We sent messengers before you, some We have told you about, others We have not. No messenger brings a sign except by Allah’s permission. When Allah’s command comes, judgment is passed in truth, and the liars are doomed.

40:78Verily We sent messengers before thee, among them those of whom We have told thee, and some of whom We have not told thee; and it was not given to any messenger that he should bring a portent save by Allah's leave, but when Allah's commandment cometh (the cause) is judged aright, and the followers of vanity will then be lost.
