Sodom's Destruction
You approach men instead of women, and you commit evil openly.” But their only response was, “Bring us Allah’s punishment, if you are truthful.”
29:29For come ye not in unto males, and cut ye not the road (for travellers), and commit ye not abomination in your meetings? But the answer of his folk was only that they said: Bring Allah's doom upon us if thou art a truthteller!
My Lord, save me and my family from what they do.”
26:169My Lord! Save me and my household from what they do.
29:30He said: My Lord! Give me victory over folk who work corruption.
The angels said, “O Lot, we are messengers from your Lord, they cannot harm you. Leave with your family during the night, and let none of you look back, except your wife; she will face the same fate as them. Their appointed time is the morning, is the morning not near?”
11:81(The messengers) said: O Lot! Lo! we are messengers of thy Lord; they shall not reach thee. So travel with thy people in a part of the night, and let not one of you turn round - (all) save thy wife. Lo! that which smiteth them will smite her (also). Lo! their tryst is (for) the morning. Is not the morning nigh?
15:65So travel with thy household in a portion of the night, and follow thou their backs. Let none of you turn round, but go whither ye are commanded.
They said, “Do not fear or grieve, we will save you and your family, except your wife, who is among the doomed.”
29:33And when Our messengers came unto Lot, he was troubled upon their account, for he could not protect them; but they said: Fear not, nor grieve! Lo! we are to deliver thee and thy household, (all) save thy wife, who is of those who stay behind.
“We will bring down upon the people of this town a punishment from heaven for their corruption.”
29:34Lo! We are about to bring down upon the folk of this township a fury from the sky because they are evil-livers.
And We conveyed to him Our decree, that the last remnants of those people would be wiped out by morning.
15:66And We made plain the case to him, that the root of them (who did wrong) was to be cut at early morn.
And he had warned them of Our punishment, but they doubted the warnings.
54:36And he indeed had warned them of Our blow, but they did doubt the warnings.
The people of the city came rejoicing.
15:67And the people of the city came, rejoicing at the news (of new arrivals).
By your life, they wandered blindly in their intoxication.
15:72By thy life (O Muhammad) they moved blindly in the frenzy of approaching death.
And they sought to seduce his guests, so We blinded their eyes, “Taste My punishment and warning!”
11:89And, O my people! Let not the schism with me cause you to sin so that there befall you that which befell the folk of Noah and the folk of Hud, and the folk of Salih; and the folk of Lot are not far off from you.
54:37They even asked of him his guests for an ill purpose. Then We blinded their eyes (and said): Taste now My punishment after My warnings!
Then the blast overtook them at sunrise.
15:73Then the (Awful) Cry overtook them at the sunrise.
Then We destroyed the rest.
26:172Then afterward We destroyed the others.
37:136Then We destroyed the others.
Except an old woman who remained behind.
26:171Save an old woman among those who stayed behind.
When Our command came, We turned their city upside down and rained upon them stones of hardened clay, layer upon layer.
7:84And We rained a rain upon them. See now the nature of the consequence of evil-doers!
11:82So when Our commandment came to pass We overthrew (that township) and rained upon it stones of clay, one after another,
15:74And We utterly confounded them, and We rained upon them stones of heated clay.
26:173And We rained on them a rain. And dreadful is the rain of those who have been warned.
27:58And We rained a rain upon them. Dreadful is the rain of those who have been warned.
54:34Lo! We sent a storm of stones upon them (all) save the family of Lot, whom We rescued in the last watch of the night,
And We rained down upon them a storm, so see how the fate of the wicked unfolded.
7:84And We rained a rain upon them. See now the nature of the consequence of evil-doers!
11:83Marked with fire in the providence of thy Lord (for the destruction of the wicked). And they are never far from the wrong-doers.
So, We saved him and his family, except his wife, she was among those who stayed behind.
7:83And We rescued him and his household, save his wife, who was of those who stayed behind.
15:59(All) save the family of Lot. Them we shall deliver every one,
15:60Except his wife, of whom We had decreed that she should be of those who stay behind.
26:170So We saved him and his household, every one,
27:57Then We saved him and his household save his wife; We destined her to be of those who stayed behind.
37:134When We saved him and his household, every one,
54:34Lo! We sent a storm of stones upon them (all) save the family of Lot, whom We rescued in the last watch of the night,
Except an old woman who remained behind.
26:171Save an old woman among those who stayed behind.
37:135Save an old woman among those who stayed behind;
You pass by their ruins, morning
37:137And lo! ye verily pass by (the ruin of) them in the morning
And night, will you not reflect?
37:138And at night-time; have ye then no sense?
