Not the Son of Allah
They say, “Allah has taken a son.” Glory be to Him! He is self-sufficient. Everything in the heavens and the earth belongs to Him. You have no proof for this. Are you saying about Allah what you do not know?
2:116And they say: Allah hath taken unto Himself a son. Be He glorified! Nay, but whatsoever is in the heavens and the earth is His. All are subservient unto Him.
10:68They say: Allah hath taken (unto Him) a son - Glorified be He! He hath no needs! His is all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth. Ye have no warrant for this. Tell ye concerning Allah that which ye know not?
Say, “Those who fabricate lies against Allah will never succeed.”
10:69Say: Verily those who invent a lie concerning Allah will not succeed.
The Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, was only a messenger of Allah
4:171O People of the Scripture! Do not exaggerate in your religion nor utter aught concerning Allah save the truth. The Messiah, Jesus son of Mary, was only a messenger of Allah, and His word which He conveyed unto Mary, and a spirit from Him. So believe in Allah and His messengers, and say not "Three" - Cease! (it is) better for you! - Allah is only One Allah. Far is it removed from His Transcendent Majesty that He should have a son. His is all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth. And Allah is sufficient as Defender.
The Messiah does not disdain being a servant of Allah, nor do the angels nearest to Him. Whoever turns away from His worship and grows arrogant, He will gather them all before Him.
4:172The Messiah will never scorn to be a slave unto Allah, nor will the favoured angels. Whoso scorneth His service and is proud, all such will He assemble unto Him;
Those who say, “Allah is the Messiah, son of Mary,” have strayed. The Messiah himself said, “Worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord.” Whoever associates partners with Allah, Paradise is forbidden to them, and their home is the Fire. The wrongdoers will find no helpers.
5:72They surely disbelieve who say: Lo! Allah is the Messiah, son of Mary. The Messiah (himself) said: O Children of Israel, worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord. Lo! whoso ascribeth partners unto Allah, for him Allah hath forbidden paradise. His abode is the Fire. For evil-doers there will be no helpers.
Say, “O People of the Book! Do not exceed the bounds of truth in your faith, nor follow the desires of those who went astray before you, leading many others astray.”
5:77Say: O People of the Scripture! Stress not in your religion other than the truth, and follow not the vain desires of folk who erred of old and led many astray, and erred from a plain road.
The disbelievers among the Children of Israel were cursed by the tongues of David and Jesus, son of Mary, for their defiance and transgression.
5:78Those of the Children of Israel who went astray were cursed by the tongue of David, and of Jesus, son of Mary. That was because they rebelled and used to transgress.
The Jews say, “Ezra is the son of Allah,” and the Christians say, “The Messiah is the son of Allah.” These are words from their mouths, echoing the claims of earlier disbelievers. May Allah destroy them! How deluded they are!
9:30And the Jews say: Ezra is the son of Allah, and the Christians say: The Messiah is the son of Allah. That is their saying with their mouths. They imitate the saying of those who disbelieved of old. Allah (Himself) fighteth against them. How perverse are they!
And they say, “The Most Merciful has taken a son.”
19:88And they say: The Beneficent hath taken unto Himself a son.
You have uttered a monstrous claim!
19:89Assuredly ye utter a disastrous thing
The heavens nearly rupture, the earth splits, and the mountains collapse in devastation
19:90Whereby almost the heavens are torn, and the earth is split asunder and the mountains fall in ruins,
Because they attribute a son to the Most Merciful.
19:91That ye ascribe unto the Beneficent a son,
It is not fitting for the Most Merciful to take a son.
19:92When it is not meet for (the Majesty of) the Beneficent that He should choose a son.
And to warn those who say, “Allah has taken a son.”
18:4And to warn those who say: Allah hath chosen a son,
Allah has not taken a son, nor is there any Allah besides Him. If there were, each Allah would have taken what he created and tried to dominate the others.
23:91Allah hath not chosen any son, nor is there any god along with Him; else would each god have assuredly championed that which he created, and some of them would assuredly have overcome others. Glorified be Allah above all that they allege.
And say, “Praise be to Allah, who has neither taken a son nor has any partner in His dominion, nor needs a protector against weakness.” Glorify Him greatly.
17:111And say: Praise be to Allah, Who hath not taken unto Himself a son, and Who hath no partner in the Sovereignty, nor hath He any protecting friend through dependence. And magnify Him with all magnificence.
They have no knowledge of this, nor did their forefathers. Grave is the word that comes from their mouths; they speak nothing but falsehood.
18:5(A thing) whereof they have no knowledge, nor (had) their fathers, Dreadful is the word that cometh out of their mouths. They speak naught but a lie.
It is not for Allah to take a son, glory be to Him! When He decrees a matter, He only says to it, “Be,” and it is.
19:35It befitteth not (the Majesty of) Allah that He should take unto Himself a son. Glory be to Him! When He decreeth a thing, He saith unto it only: Be! and it is.
If Allah had willed to take a son, He could have chosen from His creation as He pleased. But He is far above such a thing
39:4If Allah had willed to choose a son, He could have chosen what He would of that which He hath created. Be He Glorified! He is Allah, the One, the Absolute.
And indeed, Allah is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him. This is the straight path.
19:36And lo! Allah is my Lord and your Lord. So serve Him. That is the right path.
But the factions differed among themselves. So, woe to the disbelievers from the coming of a tremendous Day.
19:37The sects among them differ: but woe unto the disbelievers from the meeting of an awful Day.
Say, “If the Most Merciful had a son, I would be the first to worship.”
43:81Say (O Muhammad): If the Beneficent One hath a son, then, I shall be first among the worshippers. (But there is no son).
Exalted is the Lord of the heavens and the earth, the Lord of the Throne, above what they claim.
43:82Glorified be the Lord of the heavens and the earth, the Lord of the Throne, from that which they ascribe (unto Him)!
So leave them to indulge and amuse themselves until they meet their promised Day.
43:83So let them flounder (in their talk) and play until they meet the Day which they are promised.
Exalted is the majesty of our Lord; He has taken neither partner nor child.
72:3And (we believe) that He - exalted be the glory of our Lord! - hath taken neither wife nor son,
He to whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth, who has taken no son, nor has He any partner in His sovereignty, who created everything and determined its measure.
25:2He unto Whom belongeth the Sovereignty of the heavens and the earth, He hath chosen no son nor hath He any partner in the Sovereignty. He hath created everything and hath meted out for it a measure.
Say: He is Allah, the One.
112:1Say: He is Allah, the One!
He neither begets nor is begotten.
112:3He begetteth not nor was begotten.
And there is none equal to Him.
112:4And there is none comparable unto Him.
