Be Nice

O you who believe, let not one group mock another, it may be that they are better than them. Nor let women ridicule other women, it may be that they are better than them. Do not defame one another, nor call each other by offensive nicknames. How evil is a name that marks one as sinful after faith. And whoever does not repent, such are the wrongdoers.

49:11O ye who believe! Let not a folk deride a folk who may be better than they (are), not let women (deride) women who may be better than they are; neither defame one another, nor insult one another by nicknames. Bad is the name of lewdness after faith. And whoso turneth not in repentance, such are evil-doers.

Do not insult those they invoke besides Allah, lest they insult Allah in ignorance. Thus, We have made every people’s deeds seem fair to them. Then to their Lord is their return, and He will inform them of what they used to do.

6:108Revile not those unto whom they pray beside Allah lest they wrongfully revile Allah through ignorance. Thus unto every nation have We made their deed seem fair. Then unto their Lord is their return, and He will tell them what they used to do.

Tell My servants to speak in the best manner.

17:53Tell My bondmen to speak that which is kindlier. Lo! the devil soweth discord among them. Lo! the devil is for man an open foe.

A kind word and forgiveness are better than charity followed by injury.

2:263A kind word with forgiveness is better than almsgiving followed by injury. Allah is Absolute, Clement.

Tell those who believe to forgive those who do not expect the Days of Allah, so that He may repay people for what they have earned.

45:14Tell those who believe to forgive those who hope not for the days of Allah; in order that He may requite folk what they used to earn.

O you who believe, avoid much suspicion, for some suspicion is sinful. Do not spy on one another, nor backbite. Would any of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? You would detest it.

49:12O ye who believe! Shun much suspicion; for lo! some suspicion is a crime. And spy not, neither backbite one another. Would one of you love to eat the flesh of his dead brother? Ye abhor that (so abhor the other)! And keep your duty (to Allah). Lo! Allah is Relenting, Merciful.

O humanity, We created you from a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes so that you may know one another. Surely the most honoured among you in Allah’s sight is the most mindful.

49:13O mankind! Lo! We have created you male and female, and have made you nations and tribes that ye may know one another. Lo! the noblest of you, in the sight of Allah, is the best in conduct. Lo! Allah is Knower, Aware.
