Allah's Guidance

Say: Allah’s guidance is the true guidance, and we are commanded to submit to the Lord of all worlds.

6:71Say: Shall we cry, instead of unto Allah, unto that which neither profiteth us nor hurteth us, and shall we turn back after Allah hath guided us, like one bewildered whom the devils have infatuated in the earth, who hath companions who invite him to the guidance (saying): Come unto us? Say: Lo! the guidance of Allah is Guidance, and we are ordered to surrender to the Lord of the Worlds,

Who measured and guided.

87:3Who measureth, then guideth;

Whoever Allah guides is truly guided, but whoever He leaves astray will find no protector.

18:17And thou mightest have seen the sun when it rose move away from their cave to the right, and when it set go past them on the left, and they were in the cleft thereof. That was (one) of the portents of Allah. He whom Allah guideth, he indeed is led aright, and he whom He sendeth astray, for him thou wilt not find a guiding friend.

We showed him the path; whether he chooses gratitude or denial is his own.

76:3Lo! We have shown him the way, whether he be grateful or disbelieving.

Say, “To Allah belongs the ultimate argument. Had He willed, He would have guided you all.”

6:149Say - For Allah's is the final argument - Had He willed He could indeed have guided all of you.

16:9And Allah's is the direction of the way, and some (roads) go not straight. And had He willed He would have led you all aright.

This has been Allah’s way with those before, and you will find no change in His decree.

33:62That was the way of Allah in the case of those who passed away of old; thou wilt not find for the way of Allah aught of power to change.

You’ll never find any change in Allah’s way.

35:43(Shown in their) behaving arrogantly in the land and plotting evil; and the evil plot encloseth but the men who make it. Then, can they expect aught save the treatment of the folk of old? Thou wilt not find for Allah's way of treatment any substitute, nor wilt thou find for Allah's way of treatment aught of power to change.

Allah is not to be frustrated by anything in the heavens or the earth.

35:44Have they not travelled in the land and seen the nature of the consequence for those who were before them, and they were mightier than these in power? Allah is not such that aught in the heavens or in the earth escapeth Him. Lo! He is the Wise, the Mighty.

Allah chooses for Himself whom He wills and guides to Himself those who turn to Him.

42:13He hath ordained for you that religion which He commended unto Noah, and that which We inspire in thee (Muhammad), and that which We commended unto Abraham and Moses and Jesus, saying: Establish the religion, and be not divided therein. Dreadful for the idolaters is that unto which thou callest them. Allah chooseth for Himself whom He will, and guideth unto Himself him who turneth (toward Him).

Allah guides whomever He wills to the Straight Path.

2:213Mankind were one community, and Allah sent (unto them) prophets as bearers of good tidings and as warners, and revealed therewith the Scripture with the truth that it might judge between mankind concerning that wherein they differed. And only those unto whom (the Scripture) was given differed concerning it, after clear proofs had come unto them, through hatred one of another. And Allah by His Will guided those who believe unto the truth of that concerning which they differed. Allah guideth whom He will unto a straight path.

2:272The guiding of them is not thy duty (O Muhammad), but Allah guideth whom He will. And whatsoever good thing ye spend, it is for yourselves, when ye spend not save in search of Allah's Countenance; and whatsoever good thing ye spend, it will be repaid to you in full, and ye will not be wronged.

5:16Whereby Allah guideth him who seeketh His good pleasure unto paths of peace. He bringeth them out of darkness unto light by His decree, and guideth them unto a straight path.

7:178He whom Allah leadeth, he indeed is led aright, while he whom Allah sendeth astray - they indeed are losers.

24:35Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth. The similitude of His light is as a niche wherein is a lamp. The lamp is in a glass. The glass is as it were a shining star. (This lamp is) kindled from a blessed tree, an olive neither of the East nor of the West, whose oil would almost glow forth (of itself) though no fire touched it. Light upon light. Allah guideth unto His light whom He will. And Allah speaketh to mankind in allegories, for Allah is Knower of all things.

28:56Lo! thou (O Muhammad) guidest not whom thou lovest, but Allah guideth whom He will. And He is Best Aware of those who walk aright.

39:23Allah hath (now) revealed the fairest of statements, a Scripture consistent, (wherein promises of reward are) paired (with threats of punishment), whereat doth creep the flesh of those who fear their Lord, so that their flesh and their hearts soften to Allah's reminder. Such is Allah's guidance, wherewith He guideth whom He will. And him whom Allah sendeth astray, for him there is no guide.

Had Allah willed, He could have made you one community, but He leaves some to stray and guides others.

16:93Had Allah willed He could have made you (all) one nation, but He sendeth whom He will astray and guideth whom He will, and ye will indeed be asked of what ye used to do.

42:8Had Allah willed, He could have made them one community, but Allah bringeth whom He will into His mercy. And the wrong-doers have no friend nor helper.

76:31He maketh whom He will to enter His mercy, and for evil-doers hath prepared a painful doom.

This is Allah’s guidance, by which He guides whomever He wills among His servants.

6:88Such is the guidance of Allah wherewith He guideth whom He will of His bondmen. But if they had set up (for worship) aught beside Him, (all) that they did would have been vain.

And whoever Allah guides, none can mislead.

39:37And he whom Allah guideth, for him there can be no misleader. Is not Allah Mighty, Able to Requite (the wrong)?

Allah does not misguide a people after guiding them until He makes clear what they should avoid.

9:115It was never Allah's (part) that He should send a folk astray after He had guided them until He had made clear unto them what they should avoid. Lo! Allah is Aware of all things.

Whoever Allah guides is truly guided.

7:178He whom Allah leadeth, he indeed is led aright, while he whom Allah sendeth astray - they indeed are losers.

Say, “Allah guides to the truth. Is one who guides more worthy to be followed, or one who cannot guide unless guided himself?

10:35Say: Is there of your partners (whom ye ascribe unto Allah) one that leadeth to the Truth? Say: Allah leadeth to the Truth. Is He Who leadeth to the Truth more deserving that He should be followed, or he who findeth not the way unless he (himself) be guided. What aileth you? How judge ye?

Say: “If I go astray, I stray only to my own loss. But if I am guided, it is by what my Lord reveals to me."

34:50Say: If I err, I err only to my own loss, and if I am rightly guided it is because of that which my Lord hath revealed unto me. Lo! He is Hearer, Nigh.

Say, “Each acts according to his nature, but your Lord knows best who is rightly guided.”

17:84Say: Each one doth according to his rule of conduct, and thy Lord is Best Aware of him whose way is right.
